It is very easy to wait literally 5-10 minutes to get a beer at a crowded bar. Waiting isn’t good for thirsty customers or for the managers of the bar looking to turn revenue as quickly as possible. I think we have a perfectly simple solution…
The idea: A beer vending machine. The people who want a fancy cocktail can go to the bar, but if you’re just looking to grab a can of your favorite brew you can just grab it from a beer dispensing machine. In fact with the increased sale of beers, I wouldn’t be surprised if a beer company would pay to have the unit installed. If done right these could be done in a very trendy way, and their inclusion could be a trendsetting element in itself.
A potential problem is the ‘checking of IDs’ but if you are required to show ID to enter the bar this is no longer an issue.
For those that enjoy beer from the tap there is also the option to include a beer dispensing tap as seen in this video.

The Japanese have been using beer vending machines for decades now, and place them in the streets.

I like the idea in bars as well, since waiting for someone to simply reach in a bin and open your beer can be a 10 minute ordeal. Why am I tipping this rude bartender for nothing?
Some bars in MA, swipe your drivers license to proof that its real.

It would be great for outdoor concerts, or sporting events, where the lines are brutal but the same issue of underage drinking.
The only executable solution I can see is if they are installed at an event that is already 21 plus, or if the change the drinking age :)
With the vending machines in Japan, do children often get the beers??
