I have been living in Germany for the past year or so and living in a new place has given way for a lot of idea development. One difference is as a default you are served sparkling water as opposed to flat water. I’m not a huge fan of sparkling water, but after dinner I had a glass the other night, and did a quick gargle to dislodge something from between my teeth. I am very serious about oral hygiene so it was not more then a couple of seconds when I realized that the fusion between carbonation and mouthwash could have great potential.
The idea: Carbonated Mouthwash. Nothing fancy or complicated; simply mouthwash with bubbles. Really helping to get the mouthwash through every crevice of your mouth. Leaving your mouth with a fresher, cleaner feeling.
Issues: Not sure how to keep it fresh. Seltzer-water often comes in those glass reusable bottles. I always thought they looked cool, but not very practical for this use. I will have to brainstorm this a bit more.
Follow Up: It exists! There is a patent for a special bottle to keep a carbonated mouthwash fresh. The inventor lives in Orange, CT. Sent out a couple emails already to see if anyone in my network knows him. I would love to talk more about the idea with him.
Follow Up 2: Just found a mouthwash that comes in tablet form, and fizzes up when water is added! One Harmony Group came up with the concept. Seems like a really cool idea. From a logistics perspective this is a huge advantage. This may be the perfect solution! Just sent them a message to see where I can pick some up

Who doesnt like fizzles, like that candy that i used to love as a kid, that fizzled and popped in your mouth.
Think this idea is great but wonder how long the shelf life would be for a product like this. Maybe be you sell this in the soda aisle at the grocery store.

I think the whole personal hygene thing is getting very popular with listerine strips and gum that helps clean your teeth as you chew.
I need something in the morning after a long night of drinking to totally make my mouth pure again. Normal mouthwash is too harsh and leaves a really potent taste in my mouth. A carbonated mouthwash could really be the ticket for the morning death mouth taste.

do worry about flaming, we are all firestarters here :-)
i believe it is the sugar that causes tooth decay, not the carbonation.
