Was just reading about some features of a Green building being put up by United Technologies and wanted to mention some of the noteworthy items:

-Wind power turbines and Solar panels

-Lawn on the roof which reduces surface temperatures by 70F and internal temperatures by 15F

-System to collect rain water

-Fuel cells to collect power generated from wind and solar -Elevators that create energy when they descend

-and most importantly lots of natural light

Also, it is important to know that we will probably see the first net zero energy building in the next fews years. So imagine a building that is completely sustainable as it generates all power it needs from renewable resources.
