Skateboard: pop-on, pop-off wheels

12May08

Pop on, pop off skateboard wheelsThe Problem: Skateboarders prefer to use very small and light weight wheels while performing tricks, however theses types of wheels are horrible for transport. There small size makes every small crack a potential danger, it’s a bumpy uncomfortable ride, its loud, and lastly its slower. However once wheels are on a board it requires time and effort to change wheels, Usually more effort or time than is saved by changing the wheels, plus if a skateboarder sees a cool trick spot on the way the should be able to give it a try without hesitation.

The idea: Sell ‘Trucks’, (the piece that attaches wheels to the board) that allow for easy pop-off/-on of wheels. So all people need to do is carry some extra trick wheels in their bag while they are cruising, and when they find a place they want to stay at for tricks, within 1 minute they can pop off all the wheels and attach the new ones.
